The Japanese animated film “Demon Slayer” this weekend had the best opening ever recorded in North America for a foreign language film, a new milestone after already setting a box office record in Japan.
Produced by Aniplex, a subsidiary of Japanese giant Sony, “Demon Slayer” took in $19.5 million in the United States and Canada, according to Exhibitor Relations.
The anime unseated “Hero,” a Chinese film by Zhang Yimou, which earned $17.8 million during its first weekend in American theaters, in August 2004.
“Demon Slayer” broke the box office record in Japan at the end of December. The tally on industry website Box Office Mojo currently shows $365 million in tickets sold in the Japanese market alone.
The film follows Tanjiro, a teenager living in Japan during the Taisho era (1912-1926), who becomes a demon hunter after his family is killed by the creatures thirsty for human blood.
Not only does it give me some time to relax but also opportunities to think about my life.
Some stories were heart-warming, some were thrilling, some were touching and moving.
But among all things, I recommend ” what makes a good life lessons f rom the longest study on happiness.”
Mr,Robert Waldinger says in it that it is not cholesterol level but how satisfied you are in your relationship with your family, friends and community.
Looking back at my friends and relatives I can say Robert is right.
My grandma lived up to 94. She was always smiling. Her face was always filled with satisfaction. She was always with her friend in the neighborhood
She was able to walk on her feet when she was over 90.
Everything that I remember about her is a clear-cut evidence that Mr. Waldinger’s assertion is perfectly correct.
So why don’t we live happily? Why don’t we feel satisfied with our relationships with our family members, friends and the communities?
It will surely bring improvement to your conditions both mentally and physically.
Let’s change the subject and this is today’s Newspaper headline. Can you read it?

ホッカイドウシンブン、ワクチンパスポート

Yeah vaccine passport. They’re now thinking of introducing the vaccine passport. So any person who is traveling abroad will be supposed to bring the passport which carries the certificate of whether or not he has been vaccinated or not, and so that will be really helpful in eliminating formality of taking long time to check and confirming safety of the people trying to immigrate.

Actually, when I went to Indonesia, I met a German lady. That German lady. I think her passport has an attachment to it. Along with that passport, there is also another document attached to it and it shows her the vaccines that she took. Uh, you know, before traveling. So this is to prevent her from bringing virus back to Germany. You know, if she comes home. In that case I think, this is not really a new thing to some countries. This is new to many countries, more than before, but in Japan. Have you done this before?
野村
I’ve never heard of it.

Anyway, I think that yes it is useful at the same time you know it’s a little bit sad, because if you want to travel. And you will be deprived of your right not to, or you will be deprived of your right not to be vaccinated. Yeah, yeah, it’s like you are forced to have a vaccine. So you cannot travel without the vaccine, so it’s unfair in a sense that you lose your freedom if you don’t get injected, right?
