行きつけの理髪店で散髪していた時、ふと壁にこの古時計が取り付けられているのに気づきました。 I noticed this old clock placed on the wall while I was at my regular barber shop for a haircut.
どこで手に入れたのか店主にきいたところ・・・
I asked the owner and director of the shop where he had got it.
物置を整理していたら出てきたとのこと。
He told me he had found it while cleaning out his storeroom.
まだ動くのかどうかを知るために修理屋に持っていくと、8000円で分解修理してくれたという。
Wondering if it can still work, the director took the device to a repairer who fixed everything well for only 8000 yen.
かくして、この時計は50数年の引退期間のあと、再び現役として働くことになったなりました。
And thus, the “LITTLE BIG BEN” is back to work again after some 50 years of retirement.
店主に精度を尋ねると、一日に一分程度進むだけだそうだ。グッジョブ！
